We had some amazing weather on the boat today which gave everyone great tanning time in between shark sightings! The first trip offered some slower sharks, however the sting ray offered a brief appearance once again to shake things up! We had some very entertaining young girls on board who were more than willing to sing the sharks to the boat, at times I thought I was on a karaoke trip. It actually worked; Great whites really do love Barry White’s music! Our second trip offered a great experience, however my French speaking ability needs to improve dramatically! German, English, Italian and Afrikaans just aren’t cutting it anymore :)! It was a nice day...

The sharks were on South African time today! On both trips they seemed to be a bit sluggish (maybe a heavy night for them), however it didn’t last too long! It took a massive sting ray arriving on the scene to break the silence! It was incredible to see several sharks on the portside right next to a huge sting ray! The smaller sharks seemed to be intimidated by the large ray! It was the first time that I have seen the “Great White Shark” being bullied! I am proud to say that several of our guests conquered their fears of these majestic animals; some even shed a tear because they realized how great these guys are. Let’s see what tomorrow has in store for us!

We were the only shark cage diving company to go out today, which was great! We had the whole area all to ourselves. The conditions were forecast to be bad; however our experienced crew monitored the sea and saw that the conditions were turning into the perfect day! We had brilliant weather on the boat today; the weatherman sometimes gets his predictions wrong! There were an abundance of sharks in the water, the majority were relatively young individuals with lots of energy. Many of our guests were sad to leave, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end! There is always next time...

An amazing sighting today! We were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the infamous “Slash Fin”! This large 4.2 meter shark is the reason why our shark boat is named Slash Fin! He has really grown very large over the years and it was great to see him today. There were some big swells at times today, which caused some of our passengers to suffer from “motion distress”! Luckily the crew was there to help them get over their little problems and plunge them into the cage where their minds could be kept busy by majestic sharks! It was great to have a dolphin sighting again today, they are very playful creatures! Our gannet population was out in full force today where they had found a school of fish that were easy pickings off the coast of Dyer Island! Great stuff...

A new shark was around the boat today, with whom I was not formerly introduced! However it made its presence known! It was a large 4 meter shark with a large scar on its left! A very nice shark that was happy to stay around and pose for a couple of photographs. The cloudy weather decreased our visibility in the water, it however helped against sunburn amongst our fair skinned guests! A mental note to myself; brush up on my Ukrainian for the next trip, that way everyone can understand my shark jokes in the future :)! All and all it was a good trip...

It was an incredible trip today! All the quests were in good spirit and were more than willing to serenade the sharks with a little Barry White! These are Great whites, so why wouldn’t they enjoy some of Barry Whites music! A surprise quest was on board today, Canadian born actor Gregory Smith. He was very impressed with what Marine Dynamics had to offer! We had thirteen different sharks approach the cage today which was amazing! A very large female (4.2m) spent allot of time circling the boat, that was remarkable! I hope to see her tomorrow again...
