Daily trip 31 May 2012 | Shark Diving South Africa

It has been a while since I’ve seen the number of sharks jumping, as seen on the trip today! We were pleasantly surprised firstly by the prompt arrival of all the sharks and secondly by the display of aerial acrobatics! The sharks were all in the range of between 3.5- and 4 meters. You could clearly see that they were still full of youthful energy! Conditions on the water held up quite well considering that they predicted rough weather. We did find some swell, however our anker spot behind the Island was perfect. We had some big screams and amazing sightings, all and all we had an amazing day! See you tomorrow...
Daily trip 29 May 2012 | Cage Diving South Africa

Even though we had some chilly and wet conditions on the boat we had an amazing time! The sharks arrived very promptly and our clients were able to take shelter from the weather on the lower deck behind our protective tarps! The rain was on and off for the most part of the trip. It helps however to be one of the biggest boats in the business, especially on a day like today! Unfortunately, one of our seal decoys fell victim to the open ocean and drifted away towards greener pastures, we will miss him dearly :)! Our biggest shark was about 3.9 meters in length, just shy of the 4 meter mark! A truly phenomenal day with amazing activity! Great stuff...
Daily trip 28 May 2012 | Great White Shark Diving South Africa

Another sunny, clear, winter trip at Dyer Island. The first sharks to arrive were juvenilles within the 2.5-2.9m size range, one with a badly damaged dorsal fin which we think may have been caused by fishing line. We really enjoy seeing smaller sharks, as they often have such a bold and inquisitive nature.
Daily trip 27 May 2012 | White Shark Diving Gansbaai

The action still continues with Marine Dynamics shark cage diving! We had an awesome spot to ourselves in Shark Alley with no distractions from other vessels! The activity was stupendous with no waiting time, when we were putting the cage in the water our first shark arrived at the boat! The Australians on board gave credit to the South African Great whites and mentioned that our sharks are really impressive! This is how we do it here in SA...
Daily trip 26 May 2012 | Great White Shark Cage Diving Gansbaai

Today was one of those special Dyer island days, the type of day we wish for all year round. As we anchored, I looked down into the water and every rock on the sea bed was visible, this meant one thing, if we got sharks, our group were in for a stunning dive!
Daily trip 25 May 2012 | Shark Diving Gansbaai

We had an American invasion on the boat today! Normally we have quite a diverse range of nationalities on board, but not today! It made for very interesting conversation, but no politics were discussed :)! Our sharks gave everyone a fantastic time in the cage with amazing passes. We were also very lucky to have spotted two separate groups of penguins making their way away from Dyer Island; these guys are always a welcome sight amongst guests! Our subantarctic skuas came dangerously close to leaving a couple of presents on people’s heads today; luckily no one got hit by poo! What a great day...
