We started off anchoring on the east side of Shark Alley today after having a very successful trip there yesterday. We soon had some Cape Fur Seals come and swim around the boat but after about an hour of waiting we still had no luck with the sharks, so we pulled up anchor and headed for the shallows. Low and behold we had three sharks circling us within minutes of anchoring in the Joubertsdam area, this just shows us that the winter season isn't quite in full swing yet. Our largest shark at about 4.5m, was the female version of Slashfin, as she has very similar wounds on her dorsal fin as Slashfin the male shark our boat is named after. A big shout out to our youngest diver today, a 5 year boy who was nervous at first but once he saw his dad having so much fun in the cage he just had to jump in the next cage with his mum, and his two younger sisters had lots of fun watching him from the boat. It's always fantastic to see kids experiencing the wonders of the Great White Shark from a young age! Yet another beautiful day to be on the water...-Helen
